Paneer Butter Masala

Here’s Paneer Butter Masala Recipe, also known as Paneer Makhani

Ingredients:

  • 250g paneer, cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 medium tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat 2 tbsp of butter in a pan on medium heat. Once the butter melts, add the chopped onions and sauté until the onions turn soft and translucent.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute or until the raw smell disappears.
  3. Add the tomato puree and mix well. Then add the red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and salt to taste. Mix everything well and cook on low heat until the oil separates from the mixture.
  4. Add the paneer cubes and mix gently, making sure the paneer is coated well with the masala.
  5. Add the cream and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the gravy thickens and the paneer is cooked through.
  6. Add the remaining butter and mix well. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the butter melts and the gravy is well mixed.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.
