Bolo Caserio

Bolo caseiro is a traditional Brazilian cake that is often made at home using simple ingredients. The term “bolo caseiro” literally means “homemade cake” in Portuguese. Here’s a simple recipe for Bolo Caseiro:

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  8. Invert the cake onto a wire rack and let it cool completely.
  9. Slice and serve your delicious Bolo Caseiro!

Note: You can add other flavors to the cake, such as grated coconut or lemon zest, to make it even more delicious.
