Spring rolls

Spring rolls are a popular dish in Asian cuisine and can be served as a snack or a meal. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make spring rolls:

Ingredients:

  • 10-12 spring roll wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrot
  • 1 cup chopped bean sprouts
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a wok or a large pan, heat up the sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté for a few minutes until they start to soften.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, chopped bean sprouts, and chopped mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked through.
  4. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper to the pan and mix everything together.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool down.
  6. Take a spring roll wrapper and place it on a flat surface with one corner facing you.
  7. Add about 1-2 tablespoons of the vegetable mixture onto the wrapper, placing it closer to the corner facing you.
  8. Fold the corner facing you over the filling and tuck it in tightly. Then fold in the sides and continue rolling until you reach the end of the wrapper.
  9. Repeat steps 6-8 with the remaining spring roll wrappers and filling.
  10. Heat up some oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  11. Once the oil is hot, add the spring rolls in batches and fry them until they are golden brown and crispy. This should take about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  12. Remove the spring rolls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  13. Serve the spring rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
