Spring rolls are a popular dish in Asian cuisine and can be served as a snack or a meal. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make spring rolls:
Ingredients:
- 10-12 spring roll wrappers
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrot
- 1 cup chopped bean sprouts
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a wok or a large pan, heat up the sesame oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté for a few minutes until they start to soften.
- Add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, chopped bean sprouts, and chopped mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked through.
- Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper to the pan and mix everything together.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool down.
- Take a spring roll wrapper and place it on a flat surface with one corner facing you.
- Add about 1-2 tablespoons of the vegetable mixture onto the wrapper, placing it closer to the corner facing you.
- Fold the corner facing you over the filling and tuck it in tightly. Then fold in the sides and continue rolling until you reach the end of the wrapper.
- Repeat steps 6-8 with the remaining spring roll wrappers and filling.
- Heat up some oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the spring rolls in batches and fry them until they are golden brown and crispy. This should take about 2-3 minutes per batch.
- Remove the spring rolls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve the spring rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
