Pizza is a popular Italian dish that has become famous all around the world. Here are the steps to prepare a traditional Italian pizza:
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups of warm water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Tomato sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of your choice (e.g. pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, peppers)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add the warm water and olive oil to the bowl and mix everything together until the dough comes together.
- Place the dough on a floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Put the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp towel. Let it rise for about 1 hour in a warm place.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Roll out the dough into a circular shape with a rolling pin or stretch it with your hands. Place the dough on a greased pizza pan.
- Spread the tomato sauce on top of the dough, leaving about 1/2 inch of space around the edge.
- Add the mozzarella cheese and your desired toppings on top of the sauce.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
